To eat well is important when you are walking the Camino de Santiago. The “Spanish Agency for Secure and Nutritional food” (Agencia Española de Seguridad Alimentaria y Nutrición (AESAN)) gives us some advice on this on their website (in Spanish).
You should know that the base of a good diet for a pilgrim consists of water and energy drinks, and foods rich in carbohydrates like bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, cookies, sweets, energy bars, fruit and nuts.
